We sold our house today. We have to be out March 1st, so that bumps up our timeline, but it will be fine. Our original departure date was based on the snow thaw in Montana since that's originally where we'd planned to buy. Things are going to be moving pretty quick now. I'm on box five out of the goal 20, which is pretty much right where I expected to be at this point.

One of the things that bothers me most with all this purging is the waste. We're listing things for sale, and donating, but some stuff just isn't worth doing either thing with. It kills me to throw so much away. Living a more trash free life is definitely a goal for our future.

I'm so excited to live a simpler, happier life. Doesn't it just sound so nice to gather your own milk and eggs? A lot of work, but it just sounds so peaceful and good for the soul.

I've been continuing to do one thing a day towards moving. It usually ends up being more than one thing, really. I prefer to just pack and move in a few days, so this stretching it out thing takes a surprising amount of self control. Yesterday, the kids and I took all the books/movies/vinyl we're getting rid of to a used bookstore, and sold it for $128 which is way more than I was expecting. It was Shane's vinyl that did it, they didn't buy any movies, and not many books. I'm going to take the rest to a mom and pop bookstore now to see if I can sell any more. I didn't want to overwhelm a small store with the amount I had to sell, so we went to a chain first. We spent over two hours in that store, and I didn't buy anything! That's basically a miracle. I try to avoid bookstores, as a rule. The kids behaved amazing, but it wasn't easy (as anyone who has ever spent two hours in a store with a 2 and 4 year old could tell you).

Today I packed my first box! I took down all the pictures and packed them away. 1/20 done!

The next few days will be dedicated to cleaning up for a Realtor to come walk through. Shane contacted someone who specializes in appraisals to come and let us know what we can do around the house to make it more sale ready. Obviously we want to put as little money into this house as possible, and we don't want any unnecessary projects.
