I've been continuing to do one thing a day towards moving. It usually ends up being more than one thing, really. I prefer to just pack and move in a few days, so this stretching it out thing takes a surprising amount of self control. Yesterday, the kids and I took all the books/movies/vinyl we're getting rid of to a used bookstore, and sold it for $128 which is way more than I was expecting. It was Shane's vinyl that did it, they didn't buy any movies, and not many books. I'm going to take the rest to a mom and pop bookstore now to see if I can sell any more. I didn't want to overwhelm a small store with the amount I had to sell, so we went to a chain first. We spent over two hours in that store, and I didn't buy anything! That's basically a miracle. I try to avoid bookstores, as a rule. The kids behaved amazing, but it wasn't easy (as anyone who has ever spent two hours in a store with a 2 and 4 year old could tell you).
Today I packed my first box! I took down all the pictures and packed them away. 1/20 done!
The next few days will be dedicated to cleaning up for a Realtor to come walk through. Shane contacted someone who specializes in appraisals to come and let us know what we can do around the house to make it more sale ready. Obviously we want to put as little money into this house as possible, and we don't want any unnecessary projects.

When we sold our condo over the summer our realtor said the best thing we could do was paint the interior walls. He said not to do landscaping or update anything. He said if we had the money we could redo the floors but the walls were a big thing. I also cleared out the majority of our stuff prior to the photographer coming. I cleared out just enough so it still felt like someone lived there. I wanted people to be able to visualize their stuff in the space. So excited for you and this new adventure!!
