Surprise! Our new year's resolution to not let fear hold us back from happiness has caused us to buy nine acres of land in Oklahoma. We're now in the process of sorting through and selling basically everything we own. The plan is to make the move and live in a travel trailer on the land while we build our house. We're planning to be totally off grid and as self sufficient as possible. We're very excited (and mildly terrified). My goal is to pack the entire house into 20 boxes (most of which will be the books I love so much). It doesn't sound like a lot, but I'm actually feeling pretty good about being able to do it, which really illustrates how little we're planning to take. It's also an excellent opportunity for us to purge our life of all the unnecessary stuff we've accumulated over the years.
